Instrument Set Up
All of our instruments are specially set up in our workshop. This enables them to perform to their full potential and ensures that they are easy to play. Many students are defeated by instruments that are poorly set up. We take particular care to ensure that this does not happen with our instruments.
Setting up or preparing an instrument for optimum performance requires extensive knowledge and skill. Our workshop is one of the leading workshops in the Southern Hemisphere having highly professional staff who have looked after many fine instruments used by leading players from throughout the world including many visiting soloists.
Trade-in Policy
Our excellent trade-in policy is worth special mention. Many parents worry about the cost of buying successive violins/cellos for their children as they grow, and consider renting instead. We will pay up to 75% (dependent on condition) for any violin, viola or cello bought here when trading up a size/level with us. This makes it cheaper and far more worthwhile in the long run to buy, than to rent an instrument which is likely to be badly set up and of a poorer sound quality. For bows the same conditions apply, however we will pay up to 60%.
Appraisal service
We also offer an excellent appraisal service. Many people own instruments but are unaware of their current value or are faced with purchasing instruments that they are unsure of. A quick visit to us can save a lot of money and anxiety. Please contact us to arrange a time if you would like to have an instrument appraised.
