These instruments are characterized by a clear, full bodied sound, with good depth, focus and power. This sound quality is maintained down through the different sizes. The instruments are also very responsive and are capable of a wide range of tonal colour.
They are very beautiful, made with high quality tone wood that has been seasoned well. They show good thickness all over the body as well as good preparation and correct positioning of the bassbar.
Of course these instruments are then set-up in our own studio-workshop to our usual high standard.
We have received excellent feedback about these instruments from our customers, who include teachers, and professional players. These cellos, particularly model #605 are being used by many professional players in the major Chinese orchestras.
His instruments also greatly impressed the judges at the 18th International Violin Society of America Competition, (VSA Competition) the most prestigious international competition for stringed instrument makers, who awarded him a total of four tone awards:
In 2004 one of his cellos was awarded the silver medal, and in 2008 another of his cellos was awarded a certificate of merit.
