ASLH Violins
After extensive searching we have found a violin maker, Lingzhen Hua, based in Shanghai, China, who produces instruments to the standard we demand and now makes these instruments for us.
These instruments are characterized by a clear, bright sound, coupled with good depth, focus and power. This sound quality is maintained through the different sizes. The instruments are also very responsive and are capable of a wide range of tonal colour.
They are very beautiful, made with high quality tone wood that has been seasoned well. They show good thicknessing all over the body as well as good preparation and correct positioning of the bassbar. They are also finished by the traditional northern Italian oil varnish which contributes to a richer tone.
Of course these instruments are then set-up in our own studio-workshop to our usual high standard.
We have received excellent feedback about these instruments from our customers, who include teachers, and professional players.
His instruments also greatly impressed the judges at the 18th International Violin Society of America Competition, (VSA Competition) the most prestigious international competition for stringed instrument makers, who awarded him a total of four tone awards.
In 2008 at this competition his violin was awarded a "Certificate of Merit"
