Violins
Full-sized violin
A rich, full-bodied and charismatic tone which is just as intriguing under the ear as it is to the distant audience member. This is a versatile instrument to suit the advanced-level violinist in any setting; solo, chamber or orchestral. The ideal marriage between practicality and personality.
The company Aubert Lutherie has succeeded the French violin making tradition based in Mirecourt.
One of our most popular violin models, the ASHT offers both excellent focus in sound production, and a rich tonal warmth. It is suited to intermediate/advanced-level students, and is also popular as a teaching instrument.
Chinese American-made. The Jay Haide projects powerfully, similarly to the AS30 but with a slightly more soloist "bite" to the sound. This instrument has a deep, mature sound, affording the player a broad palette of tonal colours.
This is where our range begins to offer more maturity in tone. The AS30 has a powerful sound from a distance, similarly to the Jay Haide. However, it has a warm "singing" tonal quality which is not too strident under the player's ear.
Full-sized violin
This violin is especially popular with intermediate-level violinists and hobby players due to its indulgent, resonant sound, ease of tonal variation, and value for money. A tone which, first and foremost, is deeply rewarding to the player themself.
Our standard student instrument. Great projection and clean response, making it ideal for learning. AS10 violins have long been recommended by teachers across New Zealand and Australia due to their consistent quality and reliability.
All AS10 violins are set-up in our violin workshop, using chinrests, pegs and fingerboards, and Wittner plastic tailpieces with integrated adjusters. We have selected Vision strings as an excellent fit.

Cellos
Our most popular model. The American-made Jay Haide boasts a powerful, broad and resonant sound with a soloistic "bite".
The AS90 has the same level of power and projection as the popular Jay Haide cello, but with a greater level of warmth and tonal intrigue. A versatile instrument, suited to all styles of playing.
The AS45 is a deeply rewarding instrument for the intermediate-level player. It is highly responsive, making it easy to play, but also offers great resonance and warmth of tone.
